    3. My friend Mr. Johnson has been to this place also and seen the book. My friend also had a cartographer DRAW the map that is in the front of the book. He did this for his own book. I am told Whitley/Whitney "borrowed" my friends map for her book. Mr. Johnson told me this himself 3-4 years ago. 3. NOW, I might can help you. Claibourne West married Betty Ann Woodson, the SISTER of my Sarah D. Woodson. Sarah D. married Robert Sanders;they went to Christian County like you said. Others in the family went also. MY Robert left also with his wife and if memory serves me right, a son of Claiborne. Claiborne at one time married a Miss____Sanders, believed to be the sister of Robert. I have a copy of the book,Claiborne West of Buckingham Co, Va. written by my dear friend/"cousin" John William Johnson. I found a copy of the will of JAMES SANDERS and he named Robert of course and also named Edward West and Thomas West. Claiborne Dandridge West married this Miss Sanders, a Miss Tindall(had Edward and Drury by Miss Sanders....Drury died in 1850 in Shelby County Texas. Claiborne and Betsy Woodson are buried on West Plantation near the village of Herndon,Christian County. Ky. she was his third wife. By 1830 Thomas West, Edward West and Robert Sanders/families were leaving for the Western district, a part of the Jenkins purchase. ANYHOW, i don't want to get too carried away here or i will be here all night. i teach school and drive a school bus and am UP at 3:00 every day to commute in 40 miles.......................BUT, I'd love to talk with you. My Sarah D. Woodson............I have been searching for that elusive *D* forever and also the maiden name of JAMES SANDERS wife, CAroline. 2. Taken from Genealogical Records of Buckingham County, by Whitley pg/115 Daniel and Jacob Woodson, sons of Capt. Obidiah Woodson, lived in the southwestern part of Buckingham Co. Daniel married Elizabeth, daughter of John Jones who resided in Buckingham Co.Daniel and Elizabeth (Jones) Woodson had a daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) who was the third wife of Clairborne Dandridge West. pg 112 Washington Tindall was probably a close relative of Clairborne West, as he left legacies to the latter's two sons, Thomas and Benjamin West. See Cumberland Co. Deed Book 1 , pg 17 pg 133 In 1930 while searching for the graves of Clairborne West and Wife Betty Ann Woodson (Epperson), the arthor found Mr. Irving Davie living in the old Clairborne West home.In his possession was an old account book for the years 1802-1803, kept by John Epperson at his tobacco warehouse and general store on the Appomattox River, Buckingham Co., VA., at the place of settlement called Planterstown. Do you already have this? Jane

    1. [VABUCKIN-L] Buckingham Burials - Robertson, et al
    2. Hi to list and Alice Gayle particularly. Thanks for checking. My only Robertson is Samuel [T.] who died between in 1869 and 1878, probably in Fluvanna. They were living there in 1870. His father-in-law referred to him as Robinson, but all other references are Robertson. The are Robertson currently. I have looked in nooks and crannies and other out of the way places, but have not put him in a family group yet. He was born about 1810 and we think Buckingham. There are two Samuel's on the 1850 census and I have not put either with a family yet. He was quite a bit older than his wife, so maybe he had another family? Alice in Fluvanna

    3. There is a book that has been put together by Janice Hull listing cemeteries in Buckingham County. It was available for purchase through the Buckingham Historical Society. I believe she is currently working on a second volume. This first volume is quite large. You might also try some of the online genealogy book stores for a copy. I purchased mine through the historical society.
