    3. Hi All! Most of my family Comes from Buckingham County and I have acquired a lot of information, but there are still a lot of family history that I know very little about. For instance, My Great-Great-Great Grandmother was Mary Susan Stinson, who married Wilson Washington Branch on December 20 1838 in Buckingham. Does anyone have any ideal, who her parents were. 1. [VABUCKIN] My Gunter Family
    2. acieviajr
    3. My Branch of the Gunter family also comes from Buckingham. The earliest Gunter in my family that I have been able to track down is Charles Gunter. Charles Günter's wife's name was Jane. Charles is listed in the 1850 census with his family, but apparently died between 1850 and 1860. The 1860 Buckingham census reads as follows. 1860 Gunter Jane 50 Farmer Sarah J. 32 John 28 Ann 18 Charles 3 Thomas G. 25 Richard B. 23 Robert C. 21 Bettie A. 19 Jones Polly A. 29 Jones Rebecca 6 Jones Eliza 4 Note - It is my guess that Polly Jones is Jane Gunter's Daughter, but I have no documents to back up this theory. I also believe that The 18 year old Ann Gunter listed was the wife of Richard B. Gunter and 3-year-old Charles was Richard's son. The 1870 Buckingham Census points to this conclusion. 1870 Gunter Richard B. 34 Farmer Ann 30 Charles T. 13 The Robert C. Gunter listed in the 1860 Census above is my Great-Great Grandfather. He married Elizabeth Betsy Ragland on December 22 1859. Source is the book, Lost Buckingham County, Virginia Marriages. There seems to be some mix-up between Robert C. Gunter and his son Robert Castle Gunter. As I already mentioned Robert C. Gunter Married Elizabeth Betsy Ragland and Their son Robert Castle Gunter, married his Mother's first cousin, Sandora Elizabeth Ragland. This similarity in names has led to much confusion. Anyway my line is as follows My Great-Great-Great Grandfather was Charles Gunter: Born About 1800. Source is 1850 Buckingham County Census. My Great- Great Grandfather was Robert C. Gunter: Born Oct 1838, Buckingham County Virginia. Source is 1900 Buckingham Census. My Great Grandfather was Richard B. Gunter: Born Oct 1860, Buckingham County Virginia. Source is 1900 Buckingham Census. My Grandfather was Leonard P. Gunter: Born Feb 18th 1904, Buckingham County Virginia. Source Tombstone and family members. My Mother is Mary Janet Gunter: Born Jan 10 1934, Skyler Virginia. I have a little more information on this branch of the Gunter family if anyone is interested. And I would appreciate Any further information that anyone may have. Ace Via: Richmond Virginia
