    3. >Does anyone have a list of children for Louisa Catherine Guerrant and John >Frederick Miller b. 1807? I am trying to find the parents of my great great >grandfather William Frederick Miller b. 1821 Buckingham Co VA. He married >Elizabeth Moseley b. 1818 Buckingham Co VA. Any help greatly appreciated! > I wonder if anyone else with Buckingham roots has folks who went to Livingston Co. Mo. ca. 1840? I have John William DOSS b. in Buckingham Co. ca. 1780 and his wife Jane Thomas, probably also born in Buckingham Co. They actually went to Logan or Simpson Co. Kentucky by 1804, when they were married in Logan Co. Ky. Their (unproved) son, John Doss, went to Livingston Co. Mo.ca. 1840. Does any of this connect with anyone else's research? Especially any of the THOMAS family of Buckingham? It's likely that John William Doss was the brother of Mary Doss Pendleton, who with her husband moved to Kentucky, then to Lawrence Co. Mo. As for the query about William Frederick MILLER, there was a man named Frederick Miller who was associated with this Doss family in Buckingham Co. about the time of the Revolutionary War. Later he moved to Wilkes Co. No. Car., and still later to Wayne Co. Ky. where he died. It may well be that your William Frederick was a nephew or other relative of the older Frederick Miller. But there is also a very good chance that your looking for a German -- Wilhelm Friederich Muller/Miller -- from the German communities in western Va. in that period. May I suggest you also investigate that possibility? Libbie Griffin

    2. Finally traced my roots back to a George W. Clark in Buckingham County (but sometimes mentioned in Nelson County). Seems he had a wife named Jane L. and was born in NY. Would anyone have any other information to this George W(ashington) Clark? He was born Abt. 1812 and had children: Joseph L.R. Clark (b. 1855), Sally Clark, John Clark, Samuel H. Clark, and Willis D. Clark. Joseph L. R. Clark m. Fannie ? and possibly Sarah Stinson. Joseph and Fannie Clark had a son, James Samuel Clark (b. 1888) m. Annie Lee Taylor (b. 1889, dau. of Wylie Taylor and Nancy McFadden). If anyone connects or has any information on the above, would love to exchange information! Brenda Clark Albemarle County, VA

There are books, some of which I have seen at the State Library, but many that are no longer in print and a great source of information. The hostess, Pauline Word, is a wonderfully knowledgeable lady who looked for information for me while I wrote down what we found. They are open on Wed and Sat from 1-4:00. 4:00 came and I wanted to spend the night and could have talked to Ms. Word all week. I understand there is also information at the Clerk's office that include birth and death records from 1869-1896 and a few in the 1910's; marriage records, deeds, and wills from 1869 to the present. And....if you are really lucky you might also run into Ms. Word.
