    1. [VABUCKIN] TAYLOR FAMILY
    2. Hi, I just joined this list, hoping someone can help me with a brick wall!! I have been searching for years with little or no success until recently. My 2Xgrgrandfather William A. Taylor came to Lewis Co. WV from Buckingham Co.. He married a widow Mary WARNER. She too was a Taylor, making things even more confusing, her parents was William and Mary!! She had three children from her first marriage. Then she married William and had my 1Xgrgrandfather Marcellus "Cell" R. Taylor. Has anyone researched this family and would share their info with me? I am willing to share what I have found so far. Some believe William's father could be Sandy Taylor (could be nickname). I know from a death record that his parents is "L" or "S" and "D" Taylor. Any tidbit of info will be appreciated. Hoping to hear from a cousin or two. :) Regards, Evelyn

    3. Jane Condon, Doris Chaney: There's a three vol. set, 8-1/2 x 14, hand typed and mimeographed I think at the VSL which covers material you may be thinking about. Let me see if I can find the exact name . Oh here it is: Casually called the BOLLING VOLS by Zelma Wells Price. The real nAME being OF WHOM I CAME, FROM WHENCE I CAME, by Wells-Wish, Rish-Wise and Otherwise. I would venture to state that you could not request copies from the VSL by mail. These vols. are up in the "stacks" as I remember them. There are so many surnames in it that I think you should go there and look at the 3 vols. and pick out which pages you want. You can copy any page at about 10 cents each yourself. It would cost you to order by mail, out of state I think, $20.00 up front, plus probably costs of copying. Perhaps you have a friend in the area who could go there and copy pages of the surnames which you are interested in I mean a friend IN VIRGINIA . I would love to go back there again and pick up some more surnames I didn't know I had back then but I live 1,000 miles away. 3. Carl Rosen: Ref Stephen Brown There are 7 Stephen Browns listed in the DAR Patriot Index, none of which were born in Virginia. One Stephen Brown was in Lunenburg Co. VA about 1782 I do not find Stephen among the marriages of B'ham Co. which survived. He is not found in the 1810 thru the 1830 censuses of B'ham Co. nor in the still extant voting rolls altho one book listed a Stephen Brown who was on the 1800 Tax list in Dist. No. two, Josias Jones, Commissioner. Another place in the book lists a Stephen Brown b. lca 1756 in Cumberland Co. Va and d. by 31 Aug 1837 - lived in B'ham during the Rev. and served in the Va. Militia - moved to Bledsoe Co. Tenn about 30 years after the war. - and you have his pension papers. He may have been in the tax lists, but I don't have those.
