    1. [VABUCKIN] Bernice Duncan-Struck by Lightning!
    2. Dave Duncan
    3. I am looking for information about Bernice Duncan, my great aunt, who was struck by lightning as a young child (which ended her life) in Buckingham Co. somewhere between 1902 and 1905. Were there any local newspapers at that time which may have mentioned the story? I have an old photograph of her with my grandfather, William Earl Duncan, from about 1902. Any information on this family while they resided in Buckingham County would be appreciated. William Earl's parents were William Archer Duncan and Mary Rebecca Harris. Thank you! He was s/o William BANTON & Mary GLOVER. He was shown as a carpenter and married to Mary Ann who apparently died before 1860. They had 12 children. Will you please share with me your connection to the family? I am particularly interested in a son, John R. BANTON who married Sarah F. GOUGH. Thanks, Ruby Talley Smith

    2. The LDS wesite has some scant information on Grover or Glover Banton. Go to familysearch.org and click on search and enter whatever info you have. I have only recently begun research on Bantons but it appears that Grover/Glover is my gggrandfather. I would love to know if you are having any success and am happy to share what I have. Good luck.

    2. Does anyone have any info on a Hickerson Hicks/Hix b. sometime in middle 1700's who is thought to be the father of Anthony James Hicks and Josiah Stephen Hicks? I've seen the name in Buckingham census and also that he purchased land from a Joseph Benning in 1807, but can find nothing further about him - who he married and if he had other children? Thanks so much for any help. Marsha Thurman
