Just saw this newsclip from 1872 http://theoldentimes.com/myrtle.html I interpet this that the jobseeker lives in a home/estate called "Myrtle" located in the village of Buckingham Courthouse. Can anyone verify that such a place exists/existed ? It isn't listed in "The courthouse Burned". My father has the unusual middle name of "Myrtle" and the source is a mystery. This might be a clue Oh yes - he was born in NW Buckingham in 1919. Rob Ayres
I know this post was a while back but i will hope you will still get this message.. I am very much interested in getting more information on this line.. it could possibly be that the son,, David K Harris is the gggrandfather i have been looking for. He was born probably early 1800s or close .. they moved to Tennessee and im not sure but maybe to KY. my ggrandfather was Andrew J Harris son of David. Andrew was born in Tennessee abt 1858 but i have no idea where, he married Margaret Blythe. I am assuming his father was probably born between 1820 and 1840 or there abouts. all i really know about David is that he was born in Virginia and they migrated to Tennesee for sure... my email is [email protected] Thanks Carla
I am very interested in your message regarding Hezekiah Taylor m. Mary Polly Oglesby. My husband is a descendent of Hezekiah Taylor through his son Edward. Your note mentions a son named Stafford. Could you tell me where you got this information and do you have anymore information on this family?
Are you still researching Bagby, et als of Buckingham? One of my ancestors was Harry Bagby who died 10 March 1818 in Buckingham. His daughter Elmina Frances Bagby 1810-1879 married Rev. John James Spencer 1808-1889, all of Buckingham. Can you tell me where you find the compiled information from Dorothy Hines? Thank you.

John Jones b. abt 1710 and Elizabeth Walker of Buckingham had a son John "Jack" Jones b. abt. 1765. I found the following regarding his marriage to Elizabeth Easley: p. 1. Charlotte Order Book 1 (1765-1767). 06 Aug 1765 Matthew WATSON appointed guardian to Elizabeth and Thomas Easley, orphans of Thomas Easley. {his widow Mary remarried a Rawlings} p. 8. 05 Aug 1776. Elizabeth Easley, orphan of Thomas Easley, chose Robert William as her guardian. p. 82. p. 9. 07 Sep. 1778. Robert WILLIAMS, guardian to Elizabeth Easley [orphan of Thomas], produced receipt of John Jones who has intermarried with Elizabeth. Charlotte Co., VA, Order Book # 4, 1774-1780, p. 144. September Court 1778. Robert WILLAMS Guardian to Elizabeth Easley orphan of Thomas Easley dec. came into court with John Jones, who is intermarried with the said Elizabeth. Is Thomas Easely, Robert Williams, or Matthew Watson associated with any Buckingham families??? John and Elizabeth Easley Jones were married in VA and removed to Davidson Co. TN along with John's sister Keziah and her husband, Anthony Winston. Both families later went into AL. Some of their children intermarried. Thanks in Advance, Tammy Jones
Ruby, Thanks for responding to my inquiry on Mary J. Duncan and James W. Harris. Do you have anything further on David H. Harris and Mary Jane Thomas? I show them as also being the parents of Alexander Benjamin Harris who married Willie England. Alexander and Willie were the parents of Mary Rebecca Harris who married my great-grandfather, William Archer Duncan, on August 19, 1896 in Buckingham County. Mary J. Duncan was a sister to William Archer Duncan's father, William Henry Duncan. I would appreciate anything further you might be able to share on these individuals and their families. Thank you!
