I've managed to trace my line back to Jacob, but know nothing beyond his name - since Buckingham is a burned county. I'm curious where you found your info. I believe Jacob DUNCAN Sr's father to be John DUNCAN Sr. This is based on land records. I do not believe John DUNCAN Sr to be the immigrant. I do not believe he was born in Scotland. Perhaps his father was. I have not been able to prove who his parents were. DUNCANs in Albemarle and Fluvanna Counties are almost surely connected to John DUNCAN Sr but I have not been able to prove or disprove this. From land records I feel John DUNCAN Sr had at least 2 sons, Jacob Sr and John Jr, no doubt there were more children but I am not comfortable in naming any more at this point. John DUNCAN Jr had at least 2 sons, George and Edward DUNCAN. I have found out fairly recently that Jacob DUNCAN Sr married Mary "Molly" NEWTON. I descend from Jacob DUNCAN Jr. I would very much like to hear from other DUNCAN descendants. Ruby Talley Smith
