Hello, My name is Jean Hancock and I am researching the family of John and Sarah "Suckey" Moody Rook. Right now, I know of only one of my Northampton Co., NC Rook folks who went to Montgomery/Dickson CO., TN. There were 10 Rook children in NC who were children of John and Sarah Moody Rook. Sarah was the daughter of Joseph Moody. John and "Suckey's" children were: John Rook, Sr. dob: 1760 (we usually designate him as John II because there were three of them! John I was married to "Suckey"), Martin dob: 1766, Benjamin dob: 1764 (md. to Lydia Ingram); James dob: 1756 (md. to Elizabeth Ederington); Rebecca dob: 1758 (md. to UNK Short); Sarah "Sary" dob: 1762; Tabitha dob: 1768; Cattron dob: 1770; and Ann dob: 1774. These dob dates are not written in stone but they are all I have right now. I know that John I served in the RW. As far as I have been able to determine, John, Sr. (II) who was married to Susannah/Nancy Lyon was the only Rook who went to TN around 1800.
