Hello, I've just begun working on the 1820 Brunswick County census records, and I cannot understand a notation beside some of the names. Written next to the name is a capital F & and a capital N (F.N.). There are no numbers enumerating people of the household next to each name that has the F.N. notation. The whole line is blank. Also, in the late 1700s, at what age was a young lady considered to be a "spinster." Below is the marriage bond of my 3rd Great Grandparents: "Stephen Smith and Olive Harrison, spinster, daughter of Nathaniel Harrison, who consents. May 25, 1778. Cudey and Gabriel Harrison, witnesses." Would someone please enlighten this new Virginia researcher? Jeanie Smith Zadach Savannah, GA
