Hi, this is my first post to the Brunswick Co. mailing list. I have several Brunswick County lines I am researching. One is John JONES "of Crooked Run". He was so described in the marriage record of his daughter Elizabeth Keene JONES (1777-after 1826) to John BISHOP (19 Mar 1767-1822) s/o Matthew BISHOP and Mary. The record of the 10 Jan 1793 marriage in Brunswick County names the bride's father as John JONES of Crooked Run, Brunswick Co., VA. John JONES's wife was Sarah SUGGITT/SUGGETT (1751-1830) who was born in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co. and was the daughter of Edgecomb SUGGETT and Elizabeth KEENE. John JONES and Sarah SUGGETT married about 1766 in either Richmond Co. or Brunswick Co. Sometime before 1800, John JONES and Sarah SUGGETT migrated to Kentucky. Their other known children were Susannah Suggett JONES (m. Jonathan TAUL), Lucy JONES (m. James JOHNSON), Wiley B. JONES, and Thomas JONES. I know that Lucy and Susannah moved with parents to Kentucky and married there, but I believe my direct line, Elizabeth Keene JONES and John BISHOP, lived out their lives in Brunswick Co., VA. If anyone has a connection with the Jones family of Crooked Run, I would love to hear from you. There are additional Jones families I am looking for in Mecklenburg and Halifax Counties also.
