Does Asa BISHOP appear in any of your BISHOP files? This man came from this area to Carteret County, NC in the late 18th century. He married a WALLACE and a NELSON later and I have wondered for years how this terpentine merchant made this transition. There are connections between these two areas that have never made any sense to me. If this is news to you, don't worry about it.
