I have a copy of the transcribed will of Thomas JONES from the Brunswick Co. Will Book 5 (1777-1795), pp. 415-416; however I have never seen the original will, only the transcription. The will, written 15 Aug 1789, mentions Thomas JONES' land along "the creek of Crooked Run". Executors named in the will were son, John JONES, John GREEN and Thomas MASON. Inventory and appraisement is dated 24 Mar 1791 and is on page 420. According to the transcription, both records are signed by Teste - John Jones, CBC. Can anyone tell me the significance of the "CBC" after the name of John JONES? Would anyone have access to the original documents to make sure the letters CBC have been correctly transcribed? Thank you very much for any help. Betty Surnames in VA: JONES, MITCHELL, BISHOP, COATES/COATS, SUGGETT/SUGGITT, CREWS, THOMPSON, KEENE, OLIVER
