Hi Folks, I wonder if there is anyone on the list who knows if the Rook and Moody Cemeteries are located in Brunswick Co., VA? According to a very nice person who looked them up they may be located near Gaston, NC. My nice person said "...these are located in eastern NC, just north of Roanoke Rapids. The Moody Cemetery is labeled and there is another cemetery near it, both of which fit the coordinates you list. They are just off state highway 46, very near the village labeled Gum Forks. This is about 2 1/2 miles west of the town of Gaston. Gaston is about a mile north of Roanoke Rapids, adjoining it but across the river." However, according to my map, the "Barley" mentioned below is in VA. My guess is that the border between NC and VA is similar to the one between TX and its adjoining states---it depends upon how deep the river is on any given day! Can anyone help me? If I can find out for sure where they are perhaps I can find a cemetery book which lists tombstone inscriptions. Thank you for your help.
