Does anyone have any information on the children of John Melton (Sr.), born abt 1730 in Hanover County, VA? I am particularly interested in any information on his children Peter Melton and Hardy Melton, both recorded in Greensville County, VA in the 1782 State Enumeration and 1790 Tax Lists. Peter Melton (or possibly his brother Hardy) had a child named James Melton, Sr., who appears in Greensville County census of 1820. Please contact me with any information you might have. JOHN MELTON, JR., b. February 06, 1755, Hanover County, Virginia. iii. HARDY MELTON, b. Abt. 1756, Hanover County, Virginia; d. Aft. 1790; m. DELILAH LAURENCE. iv. CHARLES MELTON, b. Abt. 1757. Generation No. 2 2. PETER MELTON was born Abt. 1754 in Virginia. He married UNKNOWN. Children of PETER MELTON and UNKNOWN MELTON are: 3. i. JAMES MELTON, SR., b. Bef. 1775, Virginia. ii. AMY MELTON, b. Abt. 1780, Virginia (also reported as daughter of HARDY MELTON) Generation No. 3 3. JAMES MELTON, SR. was born Bef. 1775 in Virginia. Child of JAMES MELTON, SR. is: 4. i.
