Clare,Sue and Lori...I have many Brunswick County, Virginia roots as well. I don't know how to be a list owner, but would be most happy to help the one of you that undertakes the job. I am a "rookie" at the ged-com business as well. I have two main families in Brunswick with surnames too. I am a descendants of Peter SIMMONS I of Brunswick Co., Virginia...9 generations down from Peter I. Peter I had at least three children Sarah SIMMONS who m. Thomas HARWELL; Mary SIMMONS who m. William VAUGHAN and Peter SIMMONS II also m. an Elizabeth. I have been doing a lot of "research" on the families that were metriculating about Brunswick at the time of William VAUGHAN. There were of course the HARWELL, JACKSONS, LANIERS, PARHAMS, HARRISONS, ROYALLS, BUTTS, OWENS, STITHS, HICKS, ABERNATHYS, SADLER etc. these are just a few of the the people that were in Brunswick. I am mainly interested in the Three Creeks area or Reedy Branch and Meherrin River area etc. The time frame I am mainly have interest is would be the period from 1700 to the early 1800's. I would be happy to help in any way that I can to help the one that adopts the list. I just joined recently...haven't had a chance to post to the list as yet. Let me know if I can be of assistance - Carol

Researching WINNEY MOORE (daughter of John Moore d 1753 and wife Mary Thrower d 1784) who married NATHANIEL JOHNSON. According to my records, Nathaniel JOHNSON was son of WILLIAM JOHNSON and his wife Martha ANDERSON. I descend from Arthur Johnson who died in Illinois. Is anyone researching John Moore - Mary Thrower - Martha Anderson families? Would like to talk. Mary Nell Carter Turner
Not coming from a church background that christens babies, I am not for sure of some facts regarding it as it pertains to my ancestors born about 1770. Are the children normally a certain age when they are christened or was it just when the parents got around to it? Harvey
Good Morning All, I'm in search of the parents of my Robert Harris born VA in 1795, married to Sarah (Sally) Carson in Rockbridge Co. VA in 1818. I've been told that the father of my Robert is Robert Harris and according to census records also born in VA. I found a Robert Harris and Elizabeth S. Clayton married on Nov. 26, 1793 in Bruswick Co. VA. I was hoping that someone could tell me a little about them...who were the children. Thanks Julie ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Hello List: I am new to this list, so want to put my query before all of you with the hope that someone may have some help. I am looking for information about JOHN LAMBERT, who was married to ELIZABETH ?(Possibly Elizabeth Gregory, m. 11 Dec 1709) in Mecklenburg or Brunswick Co. VA. In need infor on his parents ,as well as Elizabeth's. This JOHN LAMBERT had a son with JEMIMA JACKSON about 1760 who she named MARK LAMBERT JACKSON. Later after Mark L. Jackson was married to Drucilla Rainey on Nov 8, 1784, Jemima Jackson and John Lambert were married to each other on Aug 5, 1785 in Brunswick Co. VA. Joseph Lambert signed as ssecurity. He may be a clue as to John's family. I am looking for his parent's line. (Evidently John's 1st wife, Elizabeth, was dead by this time. I have court records showing that John Lambert and Jemima Jackson were found guilty of adultry by the court and fined 1000 lbs of tobacco each to be paid to st. James Church for benefit of the needy, Brunswick Co. VA. I have looked in the VA Genealogist Vols 31,232,33 in an article titled Jacksons of Lower Virginia" but while iit lists many Jacksons, and even mentions Mark Lambert Jackson, it only says that he does not belong to the others, the main froup on which the article focused. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information, or suggestions to follow up on,. I have found a Jarvis Jackson who had a daughter Jemima....does anyone have info on that family? I hope to visit Williamburg in late October and want to get as much together as to where to look before I arrive. Boone White
