I believe that Jacob Helms from Botetourt county Virginia was the son of Rev. John Helms. Jacob went to Tazewell co VA and on to Russell County VA, then to Floyd Co. Ky and in about 1841 went to Texas where he died in 1858. Jacob married Nancy Peery, date unknown (probably about 1803 or so) and their daughter Margaret married Hugh S. Bailey 1 October 1833 in Prestonburg, Floyd Co. KY. John Helms was performing marriages in Botetourt Count Virginia in the early 1800.
