Ran off the photo of Wheatland Manor--indeed a beautiful place. The land and house were purchased by my 2nd ggrandather, Jacob Cronise, who in turn sold the house and some of the land to his brother, Americus. Americus returned to Maryland after a couple of years, selling the property to A. H. Thompson. I have a couple of pages on Wheatland Manor in my Cronise History. It's set up in WordPerfect. If you wish to reach me at [email protected], I'll be happy to try to send them as an attachment to a return message. If you don't think you can reformat WP in another computer "language," I would be happy just to type it out for you and send it that way. (I used to type most all day at work so that would be no great problem!). I note that the retaining wall was built by Mike English, who I understand still has descendents in the area.
