In the process, I found that Griselda Humphries, born Abt 1758 in Augusta County, VA, died 1835 in Kanawha County, WVa, was married to John Henry Persinger on November 14, 1778 in Greenbrier, Alleghany County, VA. They had 11 children. John Henry was a step-son, or less likely a son, of Eve Humphries who was consort, or wife, of Jacob S Persinger who married Ezekiel Johnston before 1767. Ezekiel and Eve Humphries had 7 children. I found no evidence that my missing Thomas Jonston descends from Ezekiel Johnston and Eve Humphries Johnston. So, I'm still looking for Thomas Jonston's parents.
