    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henry, Campbell, Russell, Morrow, Shackelford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GBC.2ACI/1086.3.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Linda, I've posted a "test" message to you in "small letters" regarding your e-mail address. Look forward to your response. Secondly, here are additional surnames from Botetourt Co. who either purchased or sold lands to William A. Henry born 1804 VA, whom I believe to be the son of William Henry and Rachel. Perhaps some of these surnames may link to your lines: Hardin County TN Book: William Henry Land Grant for 200 acres on the West Tennesee River in December 1836. Land owned by William Henry on Spring Branch joined that of William Russell's at Spring Branch in District 12 of Hardin Co. TN. This was 28 acres that William Henry had purchased from John & Thomas Carroll. William Henry is listed when he moved his family from Hardin Co. TN to Jackson Co. AR sometime between 1852 and 1853: "Releasements and Insolvencies: William A. Henry 4 April 1853---for the year 1852 P. 248 Book F 5-3-1849 H/270 John & Thomas Carroll to William Henry. Purchased 4-21-1849 and recorded 5-7-1849. Land east and south of Muddy Branch. Along channel of said branch to William Russell's Spring Branch. Purchased for $100.00. 9-26-1849 H/333 P.S. Hawkins to William Henry. 18 acres for $80.00. On bank of Tn. River. Purchased 6-12-1849 recorded 9-26-1849. 11-13-1851 I/212 William Henry to Bowen Davy. 18 acres for $150.00. 13th Civil District. Cravens 69 acres for $450.00 There were other lands that William Henry sold prior to moving to Jackson Co. Arkansas in 1853, but some of the deed books for Hardin Co. Tn are missing from the County Clerk's office. "7 April 1856 for 1855 P. 540 Book F. W. A. Henry (R)". This is a tax record for Hardin Co. TN. The above surnames of Hawk, Carroll, Hawkins and Davy also link back to Botetourt Co. William Henry appears to be in the 1830 Census of Hardin TN. with Sarah Henry Wirt, daughter of William Henry of Botetourt Co. She married John T. Wirt. John Wirt died prior to the 1830 Census when Sarah and others arrived in Hardin Co. TN. Sarah filed several claims on the military service of John T. Wirt. There is a male in her household in the 20-30 range whom I believe to be William A. Henry. Then on August 14, 1831, William Henry married Elizabeth F. Russell in Hardin TN. They were my great grandparents. Suffice to say, I have many years between generations in both my Henry and Mason lines. There is also a connection either with the Henrys or Russells to the Campbell surname. In the 1850 Census of Hardin TN William Henry and family had John P. Campbell age 19, born Illinois, living with them. Next door to the William Henry family was William H. Russell, wife Elizabeth and children along with William G. Campbell age 18, born Illinois. Marrying into the William A. Henry family in AR were the following surnames: Johnson, Mason, Chalk, Stuart, Morrow, Shackelford and Barnes. Sincerely, Carolyn
