She married Hiriam Falls January 22, 1867 at the Samuel S. Thomas home Bot. Co. I have documentation of the marriage bond between Samuel and Julia dated Feb. 13, 1838. Hester was born April 5, 1845 and died June 9, 1941. She is buried in Walnut Grove Cem., Montvale, Bedford Co., VA. She had one child, Maranda, born Feb. 29, 1868, on a leap year, she died at the age of 89 only actually having 21 birthdays. She married James A. Lam of Bot.Co. June 11, 1883. They had 12 children.
