    3. HI Folks, Shepherd and Sara Pollard are buried on what was their property behind where their house stood. Because Shepherd was a confederate veteran we are working with the Fincastle Rifles[ CSV ] to get him a head stone and plan to buy one for Sara as well. The property is part of the watershed at Carvins Cove and the property now belongs to Roanoke county. Dose anyone foresee a problem with the county over marking the now unmarked graves and maybe fencing them off to keep the mountain bikes off them. I assume this will require permission from the county. The other thing is there such a thing as registering them as a cemetery with the county to possibly afford some legal protection for them? I was told there was a church down in the bottom of that valley does anyone know the name of it and it's denomination. We'd be interested in finding out which pastor performed the services. Thanks for any help you can give. Doug Pollard
