Thanks for posting that timeline of the formation of the Virginia/WV/KY counties. My gosh, no wonder we long-time West Virginians whose families were the pioneers, who came from Virginia, have the devil of a time trying to figure out where our ancestors lived! I'm sure many novices have thought their ancestors moved around constantly, when, in truth, they may have sat in the same spot for a 100 years and had the counties names shift around them!
