In the 1850 census he is listed with his wife Mary living with his father Lewis. I found their marriage record. They were married on Feb 20, 1844. Andrew Bryant was surety. Mary's surname was also Bryant. Andrew Bryant's marriage note to the clerk of Roanoke was signed by Lewis B. Bryant (July, 1844). In 1850 census one Elijah ,age 18, was listed as living with Andrew and his family. Lewis Bryan(t) married Nancy Short on 17 Aug 1818 (Roanoke, Botetourt records). She was listed as over 21 and the daughter of John Short,deceased. George Bryan was witness and surety. So I believe that Lewis and Nancy had at least three children -Jesse, Andrew, and Elijah. They may have had more but I haven't found any, especially girls. Nancy died before 1850 because Lewis was listed as a Widower in that census. There are many Bryans and Bryants listed in the Botetourt County marriage records dating from 1778! , but I haven't been able to connect any others so far.
