    3. According to records in Bland County, John Myers, s/o William & Charity Myers, marr. c1849 a Sophia Carper, dau. of Jacob & Rebecca Carper. Her birthdate varies from 1822-1826 in later records. They are found in the 1850 Tazewell 1950 census and stated they were from Craig/Botetourt county, but I have not found any record of their parents in Botetourt, Craig Or Giles counties. Do you know these Carpers? -----Original Message----- From: vaboteto-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:vaboteto-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of KesslerWV@aol.com Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2008 6:41 AM To: vaboteto@rootsweb.com Subject: [VABOTETO] Lewis Hickle Good morning, Looking for information on Lewis Hickle and this wife Elizabeth. They had 7 children known to me, Susan Mary, Adam, George, Susannah, Jacob, Elizabeth and John. I am looking to learn the last name of Elizabeth, the wife and the birth date and place for Lewis. Lewis Hickle was of German descent. Some records show this name as Hinkle. He was of Frederick Co., VA and later Botetourt Co., VA. The Hickle family was among the early settlers of the lower valley of VA. He was a Revolutionary soldier and is said to have been in Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered. He and his wife Elizabeth, applied for a pension but did not get it. 1794 Botetourt Co., VA Personal Property Tax List Hickle, Lewis 2 white males 16+, 4 horses. His will, dated Nov. 21,1807, was proven in January 1808 (Botetourt County Will Book B p. 167) (Inventory Will Book G p 533 Botetourt Co., VA). Thank you and always happy to share any information on KESSLER, KESLER, PECK, AMMEN, BORDEN, CARPER, and other Botetourt County names I might have.
