Solomon moved from Botetourt Co., to Rockingham Co., Va., and from there to Preble Co., Ohio, in 1849 he moved from Ohio to Huntington Co., Ind., where he lived for one year. In 1851 he moved to a farm on the Salamonie River near Dora, Wabash Co., Ind., where he settled on a tract of 600 acres. His first house was a log cabin. Later he built a frame house where he spent the remainder of his life. Deed Book Botetourt Co. Va., Records. Dec. 20th, 1819 Between Samuel Roof and Dolly his wife conveyed to Abraham Gast land on Carvin's Creek, Botetourt Co., land sold at auction by Abraham Gast to Solomon Peffly.
