Henry Houtz was a son of John Houtz, who went from Lancaster Co., Penna., to Virginia about 1795. Henry had a brother, John, Jr., and a sister, Hettie, John Houtz, Jr. was the father of Charles and Sarah Houtz. Charles married Christina Garst (see No.*460 <cid:part2.08060009.05010906@roadrunner.com>). Sarah married Henry Garst (see No.*445 <cid:part3.05090202.05060103@roadrunner.com>). Hettie Houtz married David Nofsinger. Their son William married America Graybill. John Cline Houtz was a farmer. This Houtz family lived near Secor, Ill., where they moved just after the Civil War. After the death of the parents the children all moved to Albion, Boone Co., Neb.
