I am looking for any info on Mathias GRISSO b: abt 1745 d: abt 1818 in Back Creek, Botetourt Co., VA. This area is now in Roanoke Co. 1810 Census shows Mathias in Botetourt. Mathias was married to Marie Elizabeth MAURER or Elizabeth GREENLEE, according to which book or family tree you believe. An Elizabeth GRISSO d: abt 1830 is supposed to be buried with Mathias in the Back Creek or Starkey area. Marie Elizabeth MAURER was b: abt 1750 probably in Lancaster Co., PA d: maybe 1830 Boetourt. Elizabeth GREENLEE b: ? PA d: maybe 1830 Botetourt. According to Sebert SISSON,s book, Elizabeth was d/o Robert GREENLEE also of Lancaster, PA. ( Mathias came to VA from PA ).
