I am looking for any information about MELINDA ADELINE DAMEWOOD, born 9 April 1850 died 1919. She married JAMES DOWDY (have no information), they had two children LINA B. DOWDY born 1872 died 1949 and THURSETTA CATHERINE (Etta Kate) DOWDY born 1869 died 1929. I have Melinda's father as PARKER DAMEWOOD. I also have a cemetery stone for a ANDERSON A. DAMEWOOD born Aug. 19, 1865 died March 16, 1931, thinking this possibly might be a brother? Melinda married James Dowdy then when he died she married JOHN DOGAN. John is suppose to be buried at Daleville Cemetery. Not sure if there is a cemetry there or maybe it was a family plot. I would think that James Dowdy and Melinda Adeline Damewood were probably married sometime abt 1868 or 1869? Death of James Dowdy about abt 1870. Don't know if it would be Roanoke or Botetourt county.......maybe another. Giles etc. As you can tell I don't have much information to go on with this family. Has anyone ever heard of the above names. I am at a standstill can't find any information. Suzanne
