Has anyone ever tried to get a search of title of property in Botetourt County? In CA we have Title Companies where title searches are done. Is there anything equivalent to that in Bote. Co? As you know VA doesn't have Townships, Ranges, & Sections such as much of the other US - therefore searching back through property descriptions in order to sort out famililes can be somewhat difficult, to say the least! I can't believe that when a piece of property is sold in this part of VA one has to search through rods & chains & bends in the creek & clumps of trees to make sure that the property is free & clear of liens, etc. If other VA researchers can shed some light on this situation, I'd appreciate hearing from them.
