Hi Botetourt Co. Researchers: I just made a fantastic discovery while browsing Rockbridge Co.'s GENWEB site. They have scanned in the ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY MARRIAGE BONDS 1778-1801 & I actually found an ancestor there. Even tho his marriage had been recorded in Botetourt County, apparently his wife was from Rockbridge Co. so the bond was signed there.
