This family leads back to John Riley who first lived on Tinker Mountain near Hollins College. The family thinks he moved from Floyd or Montgomery County. It is said that this family built the first dam in the area. He operated a mill there. John Riley married Mary Magdalene Sarver. They had the following children: a.
