If it did, I didn't receive the digest that it was supposed to be in. So thought I'd better send it once again. Sorry for the duplication if this has already been posted. There is a Tombstone Cem., also called the Denton Cem., but it is located in Roanoke County, not too far from the Botetourt Co. line. In Roanoke County Graveyards Through 1920, it states: Benjamin Denton was the 1st owner of this land;...but of particular interest (speaking of burials), is the Denton stone inscribed at top "Lawrence Kron Son Mason". It is an elaborately carved sarcophagus with the family history on it. It is enclosed on 5 sides w/ chain link fence for protection against vandalism. This cem. is rather large and is still in use and in good condition. The book says it is managed by the Tombstone Cemetery Association, but doesn't give any way to contact them. This is the Denton entry in the book: Benjamin was born the 9th day of April Anno domini 1769/ Peggy Anderson was born the 18th of January Anno domini 1774/ Benjamin Denton and Peggy Anderson was joined in the Holy State of Matrimony on the 24th of July Anna Domini 1793/ John A. Denton was born on the 6th day of August 1794/ Robert Denton was born on the 6th day of November 1796/ Died on the 9th of Sept. 1805/ Peggy Denton was born on the 31st day of March 1799/ Dallas Denton was born on the 19th day of May 1804/ Matilda Denton was born on the 15th of Oct. 1808/ Once loved once valued, now avails me not/ Though my relations have not me forgot/ Sleeping in dust, I still must here remain/ Till the archangel calls his numerous train/ Sleep on sweet babe, the day draws nigh,/ When God will call thee to the sky./ There to Behold his Blest abode, / And dwell forever near thy God.
