Seeking information on my ancestors who resided in Botetourt County from about 1760-1780. The surname was Cooper and the first names were Charles, Philip and James. Philip served under Matthew Stewart in Dunmore's War. He was also a surveyor in the Ohio Valley. The men were chased out of the Ohio Valley by the Shawnee and camped at Muddy Creek in Botetourt.
