My gggrandfather was Thomas ROBERTSON/ROBINSON b 08NOV1784 in VA d 08JUL1869 in Hollansburg,Darke,OH m 02JAN1810 to Susannah BROOKS in Fincastle,Botetourt,VA. While living in Fincastle,Botetourt,VA, They had 10 children. William b 04JAN1811; Leticia b 22OCT1812 will m Benjamin DAVIS 11JAN1830 in Fincastle,Botetourt,VA; Robert b 19MAY1817; Sarah Jane b 15JUL1815; John b 02MAY1819; Thomas b 22JUL1821; Mary Jane or Mariann b 11OCT1823; Henry b 02JUN1826; Joseph b 14MAY1828; Samuel b 31JUL1830. Thomas and his wife were both illiterate and signed documents with an ' X '. Thomas also is a veteran of the War of 1812. Susannah, his wife, father appears to have been William BROOKS who d prior to SEP1831. The family moved to Darke County OH in 1831. I would love to hear from anyone working on these lines . I would also like any information about how I could find out what unit Thomas might have fought in in the War of 1812.
