Dear Fellow Researchers, Since my last postings I have confirmed that my g-grandmother's (Lucy Jane BANISTER POGUE) parents were Jane HILL BANISTER and Jenkins BANISTER (Sr. ?). They were FPOC (Free People of Color) listed in the 1850 and 1860 censuses in Botetourt. Because of there large age difference, I believe that Jane HILL was Jenkins BANISTER's 2nd wife. There are BANISTER's in the household in 1850 and 1860 who seem too old to be Jane's children and too young to be Jenkins' siblings - this also seems to point to a prior wife. In addition, I believe that a Julia HILL in the household in 1850 must be Jane's sister. I feel very fortunate to have gotten back this far on this line. I would be most appreciative if anyone has any information on any of these people or information on any relatives that they would be willing to share. Verna Bullock Lewis
