Hi, I am researching the surnames BARGER and BURGER of Botetourt County, Virginia. My great grandmother, Nettie Grove CHRISTIE was married twice. First to Lewis BARGER in 1892. They had two children: Carl and James Hafford BARGER, who was a lawyer in Botetourt County until his death in 1956. After her husband's death, Nettie married my great grandfather, Charles Edward BURGER in 1899. They had four children: Ashby Powhatan (nicknamed Joey), Elizabeth Virginia, Juanita, and Burney.
