Need parents of Joseph William Fox b. 1832 Fincastle, Botetourt Co., VA. Joseph was a cobbler by trade and as a married man lived in Limestone, Washington Co., TN. At the age of 46 he married in Washington Co. TN, 02 August 1876 to Malissa Adeline McCracken. He died 06 April 1905 in Washington Co., TN. 1890 Civil War Veterans Census Tennessee by Sistler shows a " Fox, Joseph., WA-276-1; Pv M Co. 8th MO Inf; July 63 to 65; Limestone PO; discharge misplaced." The only leads I have are the following: Pictures in family bible of Hiram and Maggie Smith. Also, newspaper clipping of an advertisement with the picture of "Geo. T. Fox, Manufacturer, Pulaski, VA, 7 Herb Tonic, The Great Blood Purifier." Barbara
Searching for Michael Frantz, Henry and Abraham Kinzie, Abraham Teel, John Roach and Charles and George Washington Hopkins settled near Fincastle from Lancaster, Pa. Some settled near Roanoke in the late 1790's and early 1800's. Many of these families went on to Ohio and Indiana. Any help or connection or direction would be wonderful. Adell Got1124
