    3. Hi!! There are a lot of Markhams buried at the Lithia United Methodist Church in Lithia Virginia. This is in Botetourt County just east of Buchanan off Route 11. I know there is a Jackson Markham that died in 1933 that was married to Nannie B. Page. She is in my line. There were a lot of other Markhams in the same area. You could probably write to someone at the church about the records. Good Luck!! 1. [VABOTETO-L] Surnames
    2. I just discovered this mailing list today and was excited to see that it existed. I have been looking into Botetourt Co families for quite sometime and I am confident that this list will lead me to other descendants from the families that I am researching. First of all, I wanted to offer to do marriage look-ups for Botetourt Co. I have the marriage books from 1770-1853. My main connection with Botetourt Co is the MARKHAM family. There are also many connections to Bedford Co from this same group. I am currently working on trying to trace as many descendants from these lines as possible and have a list of surnames who married into the MARKHAM line. Please take a moment to look them over. I am in contact with several researchers through the MARKHAM mailing list who also are researching several names in Botetourt Co. If any may connect, I'll put you in touch. DEWITT, WATSON, TOMS, PARKER, PHILLIPS, WELCH, TOLLEY, EUBANKS, READ, HARRIS, RIDER, BEALES, MAYSE, MORRIS, GOODWIN, BORDEN, ARRINGTON, OBENCHAIN, WATTS, BLACK, BECKNER, FLIPPO, LEIGHTON, WILKERSON, RICE, MARSH, HARLEY, SWITZER, WORLEY, GOOD, LOCKLAND, OVERSTREET, FARLEY, POOLE, SHORTER, NORCROSS, SNYDER, BRYAN, FALLS, BILBRO, OVERACRE, JOHNSON, WINGER, BORGE, OTT, DODD, HENSLEY, CROUCH, WADE, CAMPBELL, HANNAH, PRIBBLE, PRESTON, HOLLAND, AYERS, HOPPER, GOODMAN, EARLY, HARLESS, RICKMAN, GRISSOM, MAYS, TAYLOR, LAWLESS, LAYMAN, PAXTON, SMITH, THOMAS, PAINTER, HEDRICK, OWEN and MARKHAM.
