    3. Thanks to Mike Miller and Frank Nofsinger for their replies. The USGS 1:100,000 map of the Roanoke Quadrangle shows Tinker Creek running from Mt Union to Glebe Mills to Cloverdale to Richmond. Kegley's Virginia Frontier, p.537 shows essentially the same. However, the J. R. Hildebrand map shows Buffalo Creek running past Glebe Mill and Daleville. There is a Little Buffalo Creek running SW into Tinker Creek on the Hildebrand and Kegley maps. My USGS map has no name on this stream. It appears that the upper Tinker Creek, NW of Cloverdale, was earlier called Buffalo Creek. I invite further comment. Richard R. 3. USGS lists Tinker (aka Tinker's) Creek as a stream in both Roanoke and Botetourt Co.s, running from Roanoke City through Daleville. They give Buffalo Creek as a varient name for Tinker Creek. They also show Buffalo Creek in Botetourt Co. running through Daleville and Villamont. They do not list a varient name. I would suppose that Buffalo Creek runs into Tinker Creek around Daleville, and before that point, they are two different streams. 2. Robert A. Stonerock
    3. Hi Paul, My ancestor Samuel STONEROCK went to Wayne Twp of Darke co., Ohio sometime around 1830. My hypothesis is that he was the son of George STEINROCK/STONEROCK who was in Berks Co., Pa until about 1790. Three of his ABENDSCHON in-laws went to Botetourt Co., Va. George and his family may have went also. George STEINROCK/STONEROCK was in Pickaway Co., Ohio in the early 1800s. He married Margaret RIENHART in 1819. George died in 1826 in Pickaway Co., Ohio. Some other families that arrived in Darke Co. were the DAVIDSONs, and the METZGERS. The DAVIDSONs appear to have stopped off in Pickaway Co. prior to moving on to Darke Co. The METZGERS may have done this also. TL Robert A. 3. Hi List, I'm seeking information on Louis M. CHRISTIE, (also spelled "CHRISTY"). He was born in 1867-68 in Montgomery County. His parents were George W. and Julie Ann (MORGAN) CHRISTIE. Julie Ann was the daughter of Charles and Eve MORGAN who were listed in the 1850 Botetourt County census, along with their other children: Elizabeth, Mary, John, Harriet, George, Charles, and Andrew. Julie Ann died when her son, Louis, was two years old and I was wondering if he may have been raised by her family after her death, since I know for sure he wasn't raised by his father George CHRISTIE. I hope this didn't confuse you guys as much as it did me :) Thank you so much for any help. Karen Miles-Mitchum darkwolf@usit.net
