The following list is taken from Morris KESSLER's "Out from the Blue Ridge" family history: 1. Jacob B. KESSLAR, born 22 Sep 1756 (assumed son) 2. Susannah Kesler, b 9 Sep 1758 3. Johannes (John) KESLER, Jr, b 9 Feb 1761 4. Daniel KESSLER, b ca 1763 5. Assumed daughter, name not known, b ca 1766, may have married Jacob Noftsinger 6. Christian KESSLER, b ca 1770 (assumed son) 7. Benjamin KESSLER, b 18 Oct 1772 8. David KESLER, b ca 1775 (assumed son) 9. Abraham (Abram) KESLER, b. 25 Jan 1778 The biographies for the individuals marked as "assumed sons" give the reasons why Morris Kessler & fellow researchers believe them to be Johannes' children. The details are too much for me to transcribe in this message. --jsl -----Original Message----- From: ccmiller <bonedigr@concentric.net> To: VABOTETO-L@rootsweb.com <VABOTETO-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, January 05, 1999 12:52 PM Subject: Kesler >Does anyone have the list of children of Johannes 1727 and Eva >Dorothea kesler of Bot. Gabriel Shrewsbury married Catherine (Haynes?) ca. 1838, possibly in Botetourt County. The marriage bond of one son says that his mother was from there. Gabriel's family lived in Bedford or Roanoke Counties at the time. He died ca. 1849-50 and in the 1850 census of Roanoke County, she and the youngest child, Henry T., were shown living with the family of John Hanes/Haynes, his wife, Sarah, and his mother, also Sarah Haynes. Was John her brother, or was his wife her sister? There are other, later family connections with the Haynes family of Bedford County. Any help would be appreciated.

I was wrong in my interpretation of the abbreviation "Rk Co." in the Kessler book.
