I failed to mention in my research of names that Ii am also looking for any info on Samuel Pifer. He married Mary Malinda Kessler and they had a daughter named Maggie that married George T. Foutz. I have been researching Clare, Simpkins and Kesslers in Botetourt Co, VA. James Simpkins was married first to Sarah, and for a long time I did not know and lots of others didn't either, know her last name. She was Sarah Lawrence b. 22 Nov 1765 d. 25 Mar 1822. they married in Duchess CO., NY in 1784. She was the dau. of Elder John Lawrence, who followed the Simpkins to botetourt Co, VA. James Simpkins was in Botetourt Co by 10 Sept 1774. He was found fighting at the Battle of Point Pleasant. Kegley's Virginia Frontier and Lewis Preston summers "Annals of Southwest VA 1769-1800". He bought land on Meadow Creek in 1785. Thought maybe someone else was interested in this family. James and Sarah had a Dau. Mary "Polly" who married Jacob Clare.

Any info on John Taylor Sr. born c 1749. He married a Magdaline James maybe. They had a son named John Taylor who was born 1772 in Botetourt Co. Va. He married a Barbara Strickler born 1775 in Shenandoah Co. Va. They were married also in Shenandoah Co. John and Barbara migrated to Champaign Co. Ohio.
