Can anyone find Paulina J CRAWFORD for 1860 in Botetourt? It would seem to be my last hope of finding her. I can't find her in 1850, and I can't find her in 1870! Not single... She would likely have been about 15 - 16 in 1860. Thanks, Vince Summers
Last hope? Come on now, Vincent, what kind of talk is that from a genealogist? Just put her on the back-burner and recycle your queries and your hands-on searching for her to a later time... I just found one of my missing links after searching for some 15 years! Can't wait that long? Then you must be much younger than I am. Joanne "Vincent E. Hi there, I am a direct Ruble descendant, and in my Ruble database I don't have another husband for Pauline, only the 2 wives for George. Pauline was his second wife. Granted there was a Paulina J. CRAWFORD, and that she wed, as his 2nd wife, George Washington RUBLE... I can't find her anywhere in a census or anything. Now I stumbled something quite by accident today. While looking for Paulina, I find that in 1850, George Washington RUBLE lived ***next door*** to a Paulina HUBBARD. One pedigree file on LDS says she married a Thomas Floyd GOINS. And I suppose that is likely true. I still wonder if there could be a connection... I don't expect any responses to this email, but if you just happen by some miracle to figure this out, I would love to hear from you. Vince Summers

I now know that only Naomi is relevant here. She and George (and the same George is *not* married to the two women below) were the grandparents of Paulina J. CRAWFORD. Thanks! Vince "Vincent E. Would someone kindly look up the above? I have been informed this is the father of Paulina J. CRAWFORD. Thanks! Vince Summers

Andrew Smyth is listed in the 1840 and 1850 Botetourt enumerations as a resident of the County. I am interested in learning the names of the children in the 1840 census. I have reason to believe that a son listed in the 1840 census as a 5-10 year old is my g-grandfather. I would appreciate hearing from anyone having any information re Andrew or his family. Thank you.
