    3. Thank's for being good to Barbara Stanley. I was able to get my computer repaired, thank's to Barbara, and a nice man who works on computers. I am back on for just a moment. I am hearing thunder in the distance. So i'm going to be sure to unplug that phone line. Before you all suggest it, Yes I have a surge protector, but it didn't stop the phone from killing the modum. While I have your attention, Memorial DAY and the Summer Vacations are just around the corner. I plan to take my vacation too, I will ask Barbara once again for her assistance, and do the same for her when she is away. I hope you all a safe trip on your vacations and wonderful summer. My first Genealogy Class was a huge success. I am planning another to start the last Wednesday July and run through the 4 Wednesday's in August. Classes will be held in the Fincastle Library, and start at 6:15 promptly. Anyone wishing to attend, please e-mail me at Rena Worthen [email protected]

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GBC.2ACI/1053 Message Board Post: I’m trying to connect a William Lee, who first shows up in 1817, Botetourt County VA, when he is married at age about 32. There were other Lee’s in Botetourt at that time, but I’ve not been able to find a connection. One of these Lee’s was Zachariah Lee, could he be of the same Lees, in or from, Rockingham County VA, a Zachariah Lee, was there in this time frame, and I think he was from a “large” family, and had a several sons himself. William Lee married a much younger lady, and they removed to Fentress County TN. There could be a Lee family association with the following names, Oney (young wife’s maiden name), Madera, Bartholet, Quinlan or Vanquelon, or even Newton. Any help, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Al

    1. Strickland-Eubank-Snyder Letter
    2. Lynne Hundley
    3. I have just transcribed a 1937 letter from Viola Strickland Eubank to Maurice Snyder talking about the death of his mother, her childhood friend. Surnames mentioned also include: Zimmerman, Blount and Garland. I have submitted it to the Botetourt Co. Archives on Vagenweb. I include this part here -- a familiar refrain: "Tell your father the old town not what It used to be that you Seldom ever See a familiar face except Mr. C.S. Blount and Eugene Garland of course there people In the County he knew that I did not most all the old homes broken up except his Sister Miss Ella my first School teacher She bought the old Meadow’s house on law St." If you are related to either the Stickland/Eubank family or the H.C. Snyder family, let me know. I have 4-5 more letters of Mrs. Eubank's to transcribe. The Snyder family is my line. I hope someone out there still has the letters my great-grandmother (Mary Elizabeth Dunnavant Snyder) wrote to Mrs. Eubank. I would love to see them.
