Look forward to your response. Secondly, here are additional surnames from Botetourt Co. who either purchased or sold lands to William A. Henry born 1804 VA, whom I believe to be the son of William Henry and Rachel. Perhaps some of these surnames may link to your lines: Hardin County TN Book: William Henry Land Grant for 200 acres on the West Tennesee River in December 1836. Land owned by William Henry on Spring Branch joined that of William Russell's at Spring Branch in District 12 of Hardin Co. TN. This was 28 acres that William Henry had purchased from John & Thomas Carroll. William Henry is listed when he moved his family from Hardin Co. TN to Jackson Co. AR sometime between 1852 and 1853: "Releasements and Insolvencies: William A. Henry 4 April 1853---for the year 1852 P. 248 Book F 5-3-1849 H/270 John & Thomas Carroll to William Henry. Purchased 4-21-1849 and recorded 5-7-1849. Land east and south of Muddy Branch. Along channel of said branch to William Russell's Spring Branch. Purchased for $100.00. 9-26-1849 H/333 P.S. Hawkins to William Henry. 18 acres for $80.00. On bank of Tn. River. Purchased 6-12-1849 recorded 9-26-1849. 11-13-1851 I/212 William Henry to Bowen Davy. 18 acres for $150.00. 13th Civil District. Purchased 11-11-1851 recorded 11-13-1851 11-28-1853 J/359 William Henry to William Hawk. 28 acres for it says $400.00. Dist 12. 11-28-1853 J/360 William Henry to A.M. Cravens 69 acres for $450.00 There were other lands that William Henry sold prior to moving to Jackson Co. Arkansas in 1853, but some of the deed books for Hardin Co. Tn are missing from the County Clerk's office. "7 April 1856 for 1855 P. 540 Book F. W. A. Henry (R)". This is a tax record for Hardin Co. TN. The above surnames of Hawk, Carroll, Hawkins and Davy also link back to Botetourt Co. William Henry appears to be in the 1830 Census of Hardin TN. with Sarah Henry Wirt, daughter of William Henry of Botetourt Co. She married John T. Wirt. John Wirt died prior to the 1830 Census when Sarah and others arrived in Hardin Co. TN. Sarah filed several claims on the military service of John T. Wirt. There is a male in her household in the 20-30 range whom I believe to be William A. Henry. Then on August 14, 1831, William Henry married Elizabeth F. Russell in Hardin TN. They were my great grandparents. Suffice to say, I have many years between generations in both my Henry and Mason lines. There is also a connection either with the Henrys or Russells to the Campbell surname. In the 1850 Census of Hardin TN William Henry and family had John P. Campbell age 19, born Illinois, living with them. Next door to the William Henry family was William H. Russell, wife Elizabeth and children along with William G. Campbell age 18, born Illinois. Marrying into the William A. Henry family in AR were the following surnames: Johnson, Mason, Chalk, Stuart, Morrow, Shackelford and Barnes. Sincerely, Carolyn

Here is how the Boone family connects through my direct ancestor Timothy Coe I: Samuel Stewart and wife Lydia Harrison were parents of sons Isaiah Stewart who married Mary Coe and John Stewart who married Hannah Boone, the sister of Daniel Boone. Isaiah Stewart died in 1770 on the Kentucky River - where Frankfort, KY is now located, while on a hunting trip with Daniel Boone. There are some interesting things in the female list I sent, also. Keep us posted on your progress! iNTERESTINGLY, my cousin is a DUNAWAY and his brickwall is with his gg grandma, Henrietta Boon; she may have been "Nancy H. Boon/Boone or ??" but her father was born in PA and they have a rumor in the family of links to Daniel and Squire Boone line..........Henrietta's mother was named Lydy/Liddy/Lidy/Lydia. We think Henrietta is the daughter of Jonathan Boon/Boone and Lydia Henry. This combination is the only marriage of a BOON/BOONE that has a Liddy/Lydia who was born in Ohio with a mother b. in MARYLAND and a father b. in PA. Those county shift of lines are so critical as well as the fact that the BOON family was so large (as the HENRY one!) and not all of the families heads/males were willing to leave their entire families at risk while they went exploring or adventuring! I will search each one in case Rachel was a widow when she married William Henry. Funny as the only one who fits so nicely is Rachel Poage since William Poage, John Poage and Elisha McClanahan were in William Henry's estate. But, the information I've found so far notes that Rachel Poage Hill and husband William were married a long time. Wonder why the marriage bond notes "parent/Wm. Ritchey"? Rena Worthern contacted me a short time ago with this marriage: Rachel Henry was Rachel McElhanny d/o Samuel McElhanny. She md John Jenkins on 29 July 1816 she was over 21. Source: Botetourt Marriages by Vogt Vol 2 I'd read this marriage at the LVA last week but didn't find that this Rachel Henry was a widow. Rena said that she was going to the court house today and would check for me. Believe me Linda, I truly appreciate all that you have sent and will write you when I hear from Rena. The Elizabeth Salmon marriage is a new one for me. There are two signatures on these estate papers for William Henry 1814 that I simply cannot make out and have wondered if they are important in my quest. These are the signatures of the four men who have reviewed and settled the accounts of Wm. Henry dec. by John Henry administrator. Two names are Jacob Statler and Elijah McClanahan. The other two appear to have last names beginning with the letter "L". Having searched the 1810 Census for Botetourt though, I've not located names that do match their first names. They are Griffin L____ and Growy L____. I will also post the first names of those surnames I noted last evening in this estate: Abraham Gish Thomas Clark Henry Webster Jas. From census records I can narrow their marriage date and place down to Va. between 1833 - 1834. Their oldest daughter Nancy was born about 1834 in Va. They moved to Pike Co., Ky. in 1840 then in 1858 they moved back to Wayne Co. Va. I believe Joseph's parents to be Stephen and Barbara "Huffman" Rowe.
