Rachel, This is from the News & Advance in Lynchburg about Roger: Roger Gale Clark, 58, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in the Centra Lynchburg General Hospital after a short illness. He was born Oct. 7, 1947, in Bedford County, a son of the late Moorman Loyd Clark and Della Christine Whorley Clark. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Loyd Edward Clark. He was President of Roger's Plumbing and was a member of the Virginia Homebuilders Association. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Moody Clark; a daughter, Jennifer Gayle Clark-Whitman, of Bedford; a son, Adam David Clark, of Bedford; three granddaughters, Sydney Marie Whitman, Amber Christine Clark and Ashley Elizabeth Clark; a sister, Lois Jean Chittum, of Vinton; a brother, Glenn Ray Clark, of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Nancy M. Ward, of Bedford. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Jack Davis and Steve Arrington. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford, on Thursday.
