Dear Bedford friends, My name is Linda Boyle Lang and have been researching my Bedford Boyle/ Boyles/ Bowles ancestors from long distance. My brick wall is Robert Boyle born 1751, died 28 Feb 1834 in Bedford Co intestate. His wife was Jemimah Unknown dates unknown. He had 10 children- Thomas Boyle (1770- after 1850); Alexander Boyle (abt 1771- 1848); John Boyle (1778-1849); William Boyle (1780- ?); David Boyle (1786-1836) who was my ancestor; Mary (Polly) Boyle Kerns (1787-Mar 1864); Sally Boyle Guthrie (1790 -); Caleb Boyle (1792 - ); Elizabeth Boyle (1794- ); Robert Boyle, jr (1815 -). Robert Boyle was a Private in the Cont'l line and he is my DAR ancestor. I am searching for information about his parents and his wife, Jemimah. Possible candidates may have been a Hugh Boyle or another Alexander Boyle who appeared in Bedford Co Court records in the mid 1700's. Most of the Boyle children immigrated to other states although the children of Alexander Boyle and Betsy Myler stayed in the county. Robert Boyle, Jr and Caleb also remained in the area.
