Note there is a book titled "The Bedford Boys" by Alex Kershaw, Da Capo Press. Excellent reading.... contains Full Index, Notes, Interviews with Bedford Residents and Soldiers.... B&W Pictures. Guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes while reading. Another great book that I bought at the D-Day Memorial is called "Bedford Goes to War," "The Heroic Story of a Small Virginia Community in World War II," by James W. Morrison. It has the same list as "The Bedford Boys," (which I also own), but has also has others from the county who contributed to the War, not just Army, but Navy, too. There are bios in the back of some of the people involved, and lots of added information. It talks about the deprivations that the home folk went through, rationing, letters home, etc. Very good book. Kathy
