Just a Note on this surname This name is one of the most mispelled names in early documents in Colonial Virginia. WHY When these records where discyhpered the R and the N's of this name can turn the whole name around. So when the person transcribing these early records might was looking at the OLD ENGLISH WRITINGS, THE N might be interpeted as HURT, and the R might be interpeted as a HUNT.
