He was a soldier in the Civil War and served in Company B, 14th VA Infantry, CSA. William died from exposure during the Civil War at Williamsburg College Hospital, Virginia (in 1863). He was found with his head in the creek. I have a very small article about it from a Charleston newspaper, plus some info from my husband's Uncle Virgil. It wasn't in the article, but my husband's uncle said that the horse came home without him and that's how they knew something was wrong. Thank you anyway!
