Jubal Early was indeed the Civil War General Early. He is buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA with a huge tall monument erected on a mound. Route 116 in Roanoke County, VA was also named the Jubal Early Highway. I am not related, only saw the monument and once lived on Rt. 116. RE: Just recently saw an 1843 Bedford court document involving an ancestor which included the name of Jubal Early.......and another mention of An Abner Early. Is this likely to be the illustrious Civil War General Early? I know Jubal was a lawyer..........I believe in Rocky Mount, Va.
